Dylan Ward started fundraising when he was 9 after his grandfather passed away from cancer. Dylan was so impressed with the help from the nurses that helped his granddad, he decided to raise money for them. He started to paint pictures to sell to friends and family to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support.

The paintings were so popular that 8 weeks and 70 paintings later he held an exhibition raising nearly £700. Since then he has raised money for various local charities including 4Louis which provides memory boxes to bereaved parents and various others. While doing this he was painting for another exhibition which raised another £700.

Dylan won the hearts of Britain and won the title of Britains Kindest Kid 2010. As well as all his painting and fundraising he started his own project called Wonderboxes. Wonderboxes are toy boxes that are filled with arts and crafts materials that he donates to children's wards in local hospitals. In 6 months he had deliverd over 100 Wonderboxes including some giant ones consisting of board games and even game consoles.

Dylan never wants anything for his work but he did have a dream of meeting a penguin, he is penguin mad and a lot of the pictures he paints are of penguins. This dream came true thanks to a TV series called "Noels Christmas Presents" that surprises deserving people with amazing Christmas presents. Dylan's fantastic present was to visit penguins in the wild in South Africa which was a once in a lifetime experience. When Dylan came back he was giving another surprise a local art gallery were going to have an exhibition of Dylans paintings and producing limited edition prints. Dylan raised a whooping £8400 in 3 weeks for Macmillan Cancer Support.

Dylan has lots of plans for the future to make lots more money for everything he supports and is also going to set up a website to raise money to save the endangered penguins he visited. Dylan might not have raised huge amounts of money but he puts his all his heart and amazing effort into everything he does. Dylan is trying to get donations to start a new project baby wonderboxes for babies and their mums in hospital.
