Fara Shabrina Muntu and Farah Amalia live in the world's largest archipelago, a country that consists of 238 million people, and basically too rich to be poor. But reality says different. They felt they needed to do something.
Fara was named 'Reading Ambassador' of West Java, and so the two decided to start with books. May 2011, they started "Buku Untuk Mereka" which means "Books for Them". In three weeks, with no sponsorship, just pure donations, Buku Untuk Mereka successfully collected 1684 books for kids in Kaimana, West Papua (far East of Indonesia).
They then started their own non-profit group named YOUTH! (Young United Through Humanity!), doing unique and lower budget initiatives. They are also currently inviting international young activists to take part in their project.
"The name shows our vision of wanting youth to stand together and do good for society, no borders, no boundaries."
