Margo Huffman the reigning Miss Teen Maryland International 2011 and the International Spokesperson for Believe In Tomorrow Children's Foundation.
Margo grew up being involved in her community. She doesn’t remember much about her very first volunteer experience, because she was only about 2 years old, however, she has seen photos of her father pulling her in a wagon while they completed the Susan G. Komen Race For The Cure. (Margo’s grandmother had been diagnosed with breast cancer and the family immediately started participating in events geared towards raising awareness for breast cancer.)
Margo is a staunch advocate of community service, with a passion for volunteering. She volunteers with the Johns Hopkins Believe In Tomorrow Children’s Foundation, 4-H Therapeutic Horseback Riding Program, and she is the founder of “Recycle For a Reason”. At the age of 15 she is already a two time recipient of the “President’s Volunteer Service Award.” This award means so much to her because it displays the importance of giving back to her community. Volunteering has helped Margo to obtain important leadership skills, interview skills, and gain confidence, not to mention helped her meet a lot of new friends and valuable connections.
As a recipient of the “President’s Volunteer Service Award” not only does Margo strive to be a role model for others, she encourages others to engage in volunteer service because she knows it truly makes a difference.
As Margo competes in Pageants, her efforts to focus attention on the importance of volunteering has been behind the development of her platform: Margo’s M.O.D.E.L.S. (Making an Ongoing Difference in Every Life through Service.)
