Ben and Sam Tollison had the idea to start a company that provided monsters to children who could really use a monster to love. Benjamin designs all of the monsters and Sam helps to sew the monsters. When you buy a monster they give a monster away to a child in need. They have donated monsters to the Red Cross, Children Hospital in Boston and Denver and also to the Children's Inn at NIH in Maryland.
Since starting the business the week before Christmas 2011 the boys and "A Monster to Love" have given away over 400 monsters!

Hi my name is Karen. Ben and Sam you two rock! Making monsters by sewing them together must take a long time. Selling them must be hard if you like them. Mommy said that if there is something you love it is hard to part with it. You make one, sell it and every time one is sold you give one to charity. According to your biography you gave away 400 monsters. Let’s see…400 times 2 is… 800. You must of sold and gave away 800. To do that you had to make at least 800 monsters. Wow. How long did it take you to make it? Hours or days? Oh those monsters look soooo cute!!!!! How did you feel? Why did you do it? You have got to be proud because I so am. Making monsters &donating them to The Red Cross, Children Hospital &Children’s Inn wow is not enough to describe you two. How creative of you to make small plush monsters. A week before Christmas sounds like a good time to make the business called A Monster to Love don’t you think? I wish I were you. I know, I could sell lemonade or, or make a garage sale. Or I could do… I don’t know. Anyways, you have inspired me to donate or help. Oh! I seem to have a connection. At mommy’s hospital[the one she works at] there was a bake sale and the money goes to charity .Hey, that relates to bucket filling! Everyone has an invisible bucket that shows your mood. If you are happy your bucket is full if you are sad it is the other way around. Since you may feel happy and proud of what you did your bucket should be pretty full. Like I said I’m so proud. See yaw. Keep it up! Bye. Ps: I want a monster!! : D Post a Reply |

Wow Ben and Sam you made a lot of monsters!
You showed a lot of compassion for thinking of others like the children from the hospitals. Giving the toys to the children shows a lot of love and care. You made them happy especially during this time of year.
Thinking of others is a very kind thing to do because it changes people’s life. I changed people’s life by donating and raising money for Ovarian Cancer. My grandma was unfortunate to have this awful disease. It made me feel sad because she might not be able to live. Cancer is a very bad disease because it can spread to different parts of your body.
You inspired me to make something and to give it to others in need. I am making Christmas trees made out of recycled magazines. Now I am inspired to donate my crafts to people in need of christimas presents. I have 2 questions for you, Which hospital did you donate to? Did you donate any money yourself?

I believe you both are heroes because you showed a lot of kindness. I feel happy about your hero experience because when you donate the toys to the hospital its spreads happiness. Happiness because when the sick kids get the toy they feel happy. I can make a connection to you by donating to the hospital in my area. When my little sister was sick I gave her my toy monster to cheer her up. When I saw her smile holding my toy that made me so happy. Being a hero doesn`t always mean flying around saving other people and having super powers. It means that you can help others by making them happy. Which is what you both did, by making toy monsters. You show courage and perseverance by not giving up from the first challenge like not having enough money, nothing stopped you. I want to ask you is the company still running?I also want to ask you how much money have you donated or raised?
