We at KidsareHeroes.org would like to take a little time to talk to the parents. This website was created for the purpose of showcasing and recognizing our kids when they do outstanding things in the community. We further hope that this website will help to inspire your children (as it has many others) to do something more than they would have done on their own, as they can see what other kids are doing. This can be a great learning experience, as kids will find out first hand how wonderful it can feel to help someone else. The tasks at hand can be one-time events and can be as simple as donating birthday presents to a favorite charity, or organizing a group of kids to clean up a park. |
| This site is much less about
being "do-gooders" and much more about child development. The effects these
children are having on others are absolutely wonderful. But what we have
discovered is that self-esteem is boosted when kids get to see the impact
they can have on others. These children are indeed becoming compassionate
leaders and world changers. We believe that volunteerism should be a natural
part of child development.
All of our kids began with a small idea which became the planted seed. Many of these "seeds" have grown far beyond the expectations of the planters, and that includes what the founder of this website expected when she started her organization back in 2008. Need some ideas? Check out "Meet the Heroes" and see what other kids are doing. For more and to find out how to get started, check out "Become a Hero". If you would like to nominate one of your own children to be featured on this website, please do so here. Want some personal assistance in getting started? Contact us here. And if you want to learn how our website has impacted other families, read what people are saying about us. Also, if you like what we do, let us know by giving generously. We have big plans for Kids Are Heroes and we cannot do it without financial support. Feel free to email us with questions at [email protected] |
